Soup Kitchen Registration April 6, 2025

Volunteers work from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM preparing and distributing the meal as well as cleaning up. We need at least 8 volunteers. Children under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by a parent and you should not sign them up for a separate volunteer slot, just indicate they're coming with you in the comments. Children 16 and older should be signed up for their own volunteer slot. Parents of children of all ages are always encouraged to attend.   • Location: 369 Livingston Ave, Albany, NY 12206
  • Only volunteers and cooks are allowed into the building at all times. The doors are always locked, and no visitors are to enter the building. 
  • All to-go meals are handed out in bags at the front door, across from a table to keep patrons outside and safe distance from the volunteers who are inside. 
  • Gloves will be provided and must be worn at all times and masks are optional.
  • Safe and easy on-street parking is available.

Each month we need to supply the soup kitchen with around 300-420 water bottles. This is usually 13-18 flats of 24 bottles (16.9 oz. per bottle) OR 7-9 flats of 48 bottles (16.9 oz. per bottle). We will contact you to let you know how much we need this month and confirm that you'll take care of this beforehand. You can bring it on the day you volunteer at the soup kitchen.

You can either get reimbursed by the temple or you can donate the water, whichever works for you.

This donation goes to the Social Action Fund in order to support the administrative efforts as well as additional giveaways we do at the Soup Kitchen like the Turkey giveaway around Thanksgiving. This fund also supports our general Social Action efforts including events like Mitzvah Day.
